Steps to be Exempt from SB 140

Edited

To ensure your text messages continue sending successfully and remain compliant with Texas SB 140 regulations, you must enable the exemption setting in your VipeCloud account if you qualify.

Even if you are not based in Texas, this setting may affect your ability to send texts to certain contacts.

This step is required to prevent interruptions in your texting service.

Who Needs to Complete This Step

If you have been in business for more than 2 years, you qualify to enable the SB 140 exemption.

This applies to all users, regardless of where you live.

You must enable the exemption if:

  • You live in Texas

  • You have customers with Texas area codes

  • You have team members located in Texas

  • You send text messages to anyone with a Texas phone number

Even if you are not based in Texas, this setting may affect your ability to send texts to certain contacts.

Why This Is Important

If the exemption is not enabled:

  • Text messages may not be delivered to Texas phone numbers

  • Certain automated messages may be blocked

  • Your texting functionality may be limited

Enabling the exemption ensures your messages continue sending normally and remain compliant.
